In Casino War, the player offers a wager and two cards are dealt; one to the player and one to the dealer. If the player's card is higher, then he or she receives the amount of money wagered. If there is a tie between the dealer's card and the player's card, then the player has two options: 1) to give up and lose half of the amount wagered, or 2) to go to war. "Going to war" in the context of Casino War means that the player raises his or her bet by the amount of money originally offered. The dealer then puts out three cards, and proceeds to deal an extra card to him/herself and one to the player. If the card dealt to the player is higher than or equal to the dealer's card, then the player wins even money on the raised bet. If the card dealt to the dealer is higher, though, then the player loses both the original bet and the raised bet. If the two cards are equal, the payout is 10:1 if the player has made a tie bet. Generally, Casino War is played with four decks of cards.
